This week KPLU’s music director Nick Francis has added tracks from Poncho Sanchez & Terence Blanchard’s newest album “Chano Y Dizzy” into the All That Jazz rotation. This album, heavily influenced by Latin and South American jazz, includes fierce soul and infectious melodies and rhythms.
“Dizzy’s Dashiki” and “Harris’ Walk” are new to the cycle this week.
Industry veteran George Benson, also featured this week, has been recording jazz for the last four-decades. His newest CD “Guitar Man” showcases his elegant guitar arrangements and sophisticated vocal range. Benson’s tracks new to KPLU this week include “Tequila,” “Naima,” and “Tenderly.”
