22 Replies to “1,000 Jazz Albums You Should Hear Before You Die – The First 500”

  1. I enjoy the list, but no Art Pepper in the first 500? I hope he shows up several times in the remaining listings, as he was, and is, one of THE outstanding saxists in jazz history. Start with “Living Legend” and “Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section” and go from there. His complete Galaxy recordings boxed set is absolutely one of the greatest landmarks/compilations of improvised music ever. Give it all a listen, and you will see.

    1. that’s a collection that i think i would die for…i thot u left out Sonny Rollin’s “A Night at the Village Vanguard” though… in the next 500 perhaps?

  2. Hi fellas, just want to warn you – don’t pay $500 for platinum roulette system, you can find it
